John A. Meier, J.D., LL.M. - meierj@faskc.com
General Legal Counsel
John's expertise in the areas of creative estate and
tax planning is a product of many years of legal experience in Kansas
City. After receiving his Juris Doctorate degree from the University
of Missouri-Kansas City in 1972, John specialized in tax procedure,
probate, estate planning, fringe benefits, professional corporations,
and mergers and acquisitions. He received his Master’s degree
in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City
in 1975.
John became FAS’ General Legal Counsel in 1997.
He is strategically positioned to interface with clients' legal,
accounting and tax advisors. Doing so allows FAS clients to access
a level of expertise and experience that is seldom available in
a traditional financial planning firm. John is a registered securities
principal and registered investment adviser representative.
